Description
The Principal serves as the founding instructional leader of Mundo Verde’s 8th Street campus, set to open in August 2019. The principal position is primarily responsible for ensuring the academic achievement of all students at high levels, setting instructional direction and developing and managing the school’s academic program, and genuinely and equitably engaging campus stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities/skills/values: - Demonstrated ability to be an independent solutions-oriented problem-solver - Commitment to demonstrate love and joy towards students, colleagues, and the work - Willing, hard-working attitude with a growth mindset toward self, students, and colleagues - Demonstrated ability to take ownership of personal work and the school mission - Capacity to embody the characteristics of a Community Steward by practicing six community building virtues and values every day: 1) Empathy, 2) Speak your truth, 3) Perseverance, 4) Inquiry, 5) Collaboration, and 6) Appreciation - Demonstrated ability to collaborate deeply with colleagues - Ability to manage time and work in a fast-paced, dynamic school environment, multi-task, prioritize and stay calm under pressure - Flexibility, professionalism, creativity and a willingness to learn Candidates must have a Master’s degree, preferably in education or school administration (or equivalent experience); three to five years previous teaching experience, and two or more years of experience serving in a senior management role required. Experience with one or more of our core mission components - EL education, language immersion education, or education for sustainability - preferred. Advanced or native proficiency in Spanish and English required. Ideally, experience in an urban school setting.
