Native American Language Teachers’ Institute (NALTI)
Course Description: This week-long intensive session will provide a foundation in understanding the characteristics and stages of development associated with second language learning and the implications for teaching American Indian languages. This session is especially recommended for instructors of Native languages seeking the NM 520 Alternative Certification or other Native speakers teaching their language. The session will include daily interactive teaching and learning activities, strategies and approaches for developing communicative competence and planning appropriate language curriculum for learners.
